Hi gaile–I’m so excited for you, too! Congrats! What a wonderful thing to do … to pass on your copy of Dangerous Grains after you read it. It troubles me so to hear stories about folks who are noncompliant. The severe dangers are real. Just recently I was told a tragic story of someone diagnosed with celiac who refused to follow the gluten-free diet. I’ll spare the details, but this case and those who won’t follow the diet have been on my mind. I hope that you learn a lot from Ron’s book and that your friend and her husband will, too.

I have a friend at work whose husband is celiac and he is incredibly noncompliant, so I am hoping to pass this on to her after I read it in hopes she can help him save himself. Hi Terri–Welcome to gfe! Unfortunately, the giveaway is now closed. However, you can order Dangerous Grains through Amazon via my Books tab if you like. It costs $10 on Amazon. (There are other really helpful books listed there as well.) It also could be available at your library if you prefer. I hope you get it, because it is eye opening and really helpful.

Please take the time to look around here at gfe. I’m sure the celiac diagnoses for all of you seem overwhelming right now, but eating gluten free can become second nature fairly easily. I think the gfe approach really helps along those lines … focusing on real foods, some mainstream foods that are safe, and a few gluten-free specialty foods. Please look on the sidebar under gfe’s tip sheets to find some sheets that should be helpful for the transition. And, please email me or comment with questions/concerns and I’ll be happy to help.

I would love to read Dangerous Grains – then give it to both of my daughters to read (we all are newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease).

There is so much information out there – and I want to read it all!

I have an Uncle (50 yrs) who was recently diagnosed with cancer and upon getting a biopsy yesterday, discovered he has celiacs. I would love the Dangerous Grains book as I think it would be an invaluable source of info for our entire family and especially for my Uncle.
