Winner of Free From Gluten Shopping Spree & Special Offer for All (Ice Cream Cones!)

The random number generator has worked its completely unbiased magic and selected Paula Decaria as the winner of the $75 shopping spree from Free From Gluten, the largest online gluten-free store. Congrats to Paula who blogs at Live Free, Gluten Free! (Paula, your blog is new to me, so I’m happy to find it!)

But the folks at Free From Gluten don’t want folks to go away sad, so they’re doing what any caring friend might do to comfort you. They’re offering you an ice cream cone to ease the disappointment. Well, sort of. They’re actually offering a discount on the much-eyed Goldbaum ice cream cones (all varieties) today. How much of a discount? All of their ice cream cone packages (Cup Cones, Waffle Cones, Sugar Cones, Sugar Cocoa Cones, and Jumbo Cones) will be $2 today only. Note that in some cases, this means $2 for 24 ice cream cones as one unit equals two packages of 12 cones each—wow! Just click on this link to check them out and order if you are so inclined. Remember, if it’s your first order with, you’ll receive a $5 discount on that as well if you enter their site via their ad on my sidebar to receive that discount. (There will be a dropdown discount code to use.) Once on the Free From Gluten website, go to the cones page to see the $2 pricing. This deal will only be available today. Ice cream cone mania!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I’m so excited to go shopping now!

Hi Paula–You are so welcome! Many thanks to the folks at, too, for sponsoring this giveaway, and for their special ice cream cone discount today! What fun those are, huh? Bet you spent your $75 well. ;-) Enjoy!

Shirley, what has happened to your header? It has gibberish all the way across the title.

    • Shirley on July 14th, 2011 2:46 pm

Hi Pat–It’s not gibberish, dear, although you aren’t the first person to think that! LOL Take another look and read the subtitle and I think it will become clearer to you. :-) Thanks for looking out for me though!

Do you know when the discount is applied? I went through nearly all the steps but it was never discounted. Shipping on a box of cones was 13.00 so I did not place order.

    • Shirley on July 14th, 2011 8:38 pm

Hi Christy–Sorry to be so late in replying … I’ve been out of town this evening. When you click on the ad, there’s a code that appears at the top of the screen, JUL05. That must be entered in the code box to get the $5 off of first order. One would not want to necessarily order just one box of cones considering shipping. I took advantage and ordered more stuff as well, actually getting free shipping for a $50 order. With the $5 off, this order might be more feasible for you though. Most of the cones are two packages, so $8 for 24 gluten-free cones would be a good deal for sure. :-) Hope that helps!

Great deal on the cones ($2 a box), however the cheapest shipping was $9…. making it $11 for a box on cones! :(

I like your blog title, very clever!! :)

    • Shirley on July 14th, 2011 8:40 pm

Hi Dawn–Did you also enter the code for $5 off of your first order? As I was just saying to Christy, the best deal would most likely be gotten by using that code and getting some other items at the same time. Hope that info helps some.

Thanks very much regarding my new blog header! :-)

So many Ice creams to try, I want to taste the tomato one right now!
I love the new header, I think it’s very clever- would look good on a TShirt too.

    • Shirley on July 15th, 2011 4:45 pm

InTolerantChef–That tomato ice cream is still one of my faves! It was such a surprise success to me. :-)

Thanks for the feedback on the header. And how did you know about the t-shirts that will be coming to gfe? ;-) What’s your preference? short-sleeved, long-sleeved, jersey, woman’s cut? Or all? LOL

I just tried to order $50 worth of the cones to get free shipping and it took my order. Then later they sent the following email:
Unfortunately, we have limited stock of these ice cream cones and we need to reserve some for other customers. We can allow a total of 10 packs of 2 (or a total of 240 cones), but we can’t allow an order of 25 packs and still meet our other customers’ needs.

We have canceled your order, but you are welcome to place another order of up to 10 packs of ice cream cones.

Thanks for your business, and sorry for any inconvenience.

10 packs of cones would cost $15 to ship and most of their other products are higher than what I’ve seen at Wegmans. I’nm afraid the cones are just a teaser.

    • Shirley on July 14th, 2011 11:51 pm

Sam–Respectfully, I don’t believe it’s a teaser at all. I believe that Free From Gluten honestly is trying to ensure that they have enough cones on hand for all. I imagine that they’ve had a huge response on this special offer today. Frankly, 25 packs is a lot. I doubt they anticipated such a large order from one person. I hope it works out for you to try some. Even with shipping costs, I believe the $2 per package (and it’s usually two packages–24 cones) price is hard to beat. Add in the $5 off per first order for most and it’s an exceptional deal IMHO. I’m not trying to defend or persuade, just stating the facts as I see them. Thanks for commenting. Best,
