Full disclosure: The following giveaways were sponsored by the applicable parties (e.g., authors, publishers, companies), except for some Easy Eats subscriptions, the copies of Dangerous Grains, the e-book Eat Fresh and D-Tox Your Life, and Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Flour, which were sponsored by gfe.
So here we are on Christmas Day and it’s time to announce all the latest winners for our Home for the Holidays … Gluten-Free Style event, including our final prizes, especially that grand prize winner! In a way it feels like it was a long time ago that we kicked off our event, but in other ways, it seems like our series has flown by! I’ve totally enjoyed our event and from the many positive and heartwarming comments left, I know that you all have, too. Of course, believe me when I tell you that all of us bloggers participating had as much fun as you did! We all truly appreciate your comments and overall support of our holiday event! It was our goal to bring so many gluten-free bloggers and gluten-free readers together … to introduce new folks to each other … to share holiday memories and traditions (old and new) … to share holiday recipes that we’ve created or recreated to be gluten free and often “more-free” … and to share all the valuable resources available to the gluten-free community (e.g., non-fiction “guidebooks,” cookbooks, magazines, apps, “real food” gluten-free products, and amazing kitchen equipment) While we’re all together, I’d also like to extend our wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and Happy Holidays all the way ‘round to you all!

I think it would definitely inspire me to cook and recreate gluten and dairy-free versions of the same food I ate when I lived there. My husband and I usually host my family Christmas party, his cousin’s Christmas party and a friend Christmas party, we also go to his mom’s to celebrate Christmas and we also make a day of decorating her ancient acrylic tree.”
Rebecca A.—“I will have to try these out once I make my dairy free white chocolate that is waiting to be made. This is our first Christmas being gluten free although we have been dairy free for a while longer. The holidays to me is about making sugar cookies and watching my kids decorate them any way they want. The second winner of Gluten-Free Cupcakes:
teri schaubert–“It is SO great to see gluten free options like this!!! the holidays can be so discouraging when it comes to eating or participating in get-togethers involving food. so often it seems that we “settle” for a less tasty version of a good dish… I am so looking forward to trying options like this pie. please keep great stuff like this coming!!”
**************************Day 26 ~ me, Shirley, with Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate (made using Salted Caramel Sauce from Kim at Cook IT Allergy Free)
The winner of Dangerous Grains:
Amy—“That hot chocolate sounds yummy! I’m always excited when I find something we all can try with our various allergies. I had never heard of the testing kits – thanks for sharing them!”
The winner of Healthier Without Wheat:
Megan R—“Thank you for doing this contest! I now have some awesome recipes for my cookbook! Can’t wait to see who won!”
The first winner of GlutenTox Home Kit:
Heather–”That hot chocolate sounds AWESOME!!! I’ve actually never heard of salted caramels before..but I’ve never drank at Starbucks either (I’m not a coffee person). But any hot cocoa sounds great to me..it’s chocolate!! ha ha! So I’ll definitely have to give this one a go. I continued reading though and was surprised by the gluten tox kit…and finding ‘certified gf’ items that were contaminated w/gluten. I kinda feel like i can’t trust anything now, especially if something that’s supposedly ‘certified gf’ is glutenated. I get the Food for Life english muffins for my kiddos all the time and now…dangit…just ticks me off that it’s probably glutenated. The gluten tox kits sound awesome in testing to see if there’s gluten…but impractical if you need to test a whole bunch on your grocery list.particularly if the kits are expensive. And by the way that gluten watchdog group makes it sound…there’s a LOT more glutenated stuff out there than I previously thought. Probably a lot more on my own grocery list. Ugh. Just depressing. It amazes me that there’s a kit out there though that tests down to 3 ppm. That’s awesome! Why doesn’t gf food producers use THIS kit?!! Would save us all a lot of trouble, wouldn’t it? Thanks for the contest and the eye opener on the products GFE! I’m posting this to my FB page right now. Enter me in this contest…i’d love to give one of those kits a go!”
The second winner of GlutenTox Home Kit:
Karol—“The Glutentox kit would be great to win.”
Now for those final giveaway winners …
Linda S.–“I love the hanging out with family over the holidays…just spending time together enjoying being together!”
Cindy W.–“One of my favorites is my date bars. I have not tried making them since going gf but I am going to try this year.”
Amy Whitehurst! Amy left the winning comment on Gigi’s (Gluten-Free Gigi) post on Magical Seven-Layer Bars.
“Thank you for the recipe! I’d like the 7 Quick Start Tips e-book! My favorite all time Christmas food is the simple, basic chocolate chip cookie! Thanks again and have a great holiday!”
