What: Our December “meeting”—and final, closing event for our group—will also be our 10th anniversary and our annual open house event. It will be held on Sunday, December 14, at 2:00 pm. CPT B. Donald “Ben” Andrasik will be our speaker. An Army captain, he’ll be sharing his experience being “Gluten Free in Afghanistan.” Personally, I can’t imagine being gluten free while in the military, much less while being deployed. His presentation promises to be both eye opening and inspiring!
If you know that you can’t attend the event, you might want to check out Captain Andrasik’s book, also titled Gluten Free in Afghanistan. You can see the Kindle version here and the paperback version here.
There will be lots of door prizes (donated TasteGuru package, GF Jules gingerbread mix, lots of cookbooks, etc.). Plus, gluten-free snacks and beverages will be provided. (I am asking all of our members to help me with providing those please.) A representative of Breads from Anna will also be present sharing samples of their sandwich bread and pumpkin bread. Please spread the word on this event!
Special Notes: This event will be the final meeting of our support group. I hope everyone will come out to hear and show support to CPT Andrasik and welcome those who are new to gluten-free living! I’d love to leave a lasting impression with our community after 10 years of being together. Hope to see you all there!
p.s. Big thanks to my friend Kathryn Mueller of ChaCha’s Gluten-Free Kitchen for allowing me to share her photo below!
