Ninja Cooking System, Ninja slow cooker

Ninja At Work … Letting Me Know When My Meal Will Be Done

My friend Stephanie O’Dea talked about her love of the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System in a presentation at the International Food Bloggers Conference last year and word spread quickly about this wonderful new piece of kitchen equipment. I was fortunate to have Ninja give me my very own system to try out!

If you don’t already know Stephanie, you should! She’s one of my very favorite bloggers and a dear friend. She blogs at stephanieodea.com where you will find her blogs, A Year of Slow Cooking and Totally Together Journal. You’ll also find her giveaway page on her site, run by her skilled “giveaway wrangler” Lisa Irvine. (You’ll definitely want to follow that page!)

Stephanie is also the author of the bestselling cookbook Make It Fast, Cook It Slow; as well as More Make It Fast, Cook It Slow, Plus, Stephanie has a new cookbook, 365 Slow Cooker Suppers. Stephanie’s recipes are terrific for everyone because they work for those who are gluten free as she notes the gluten-free accommodations she makes for her gluten-free family (e.g., “I used Pamela’s Baking Mix.”), but others can use her recipes without following such special guidance.

I have always trusted Stephanie’s opinion on just about everything! But to be honest, my Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System stayed in the box for a good while. I finally pulled it out at Thanksgiving last year to make Stephanie’s Slow-Cooked Maple Ham (a crowd pleaser for sure and so easy to make!) and then my Special Zesty Turkey Breast (you’ll never go back to regular turkey breast) the next day.  I simply used the slow cooker feature—which is only one of the things that Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System can do. I was impressed and pleased with the results. I love the fact that the cooking time remaining is shown on the digital display. I love the metal pot with the non-stick surface for easy clean-up, and you can’t break it! And you know the old adage about black making everything look smaller. Well, it’s even true with slow cookers! I was skeptical that a “monster” ham would fit in the Ninja, but it did with no problem. Similarly, a large turkey breast fits with ease.

Special Zesty Turkey Breast in Ninja

The Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System can do so much more though! Per the folks at Ninja, “Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System with Triple Fusion Heat surrounds the meal to cook faster, and juicier for more flavorful results. Three convenient cooking functions bring one pot multi-cooking to a whole new level for endless meal creations that take only minutes to prepare. Steam, Roast & Bake; perform Stovetop Cooking, and Searious® Slow Cook complete family rewarding meals in the large 6-Qt non-stick cooking pot that can accommodate up to a 6-lb chicken or even a 4-lb roast.”

This is an epic giveaway Shirley. I’ve read what Stephanie has written about this cooker and it sounds amazing.

Why do I love GFE? Let me count the ways! I love that you truly make gluten free living easier. You have a wonderful site that is full of options for every type of diet from full on substitution of gf products to paleo. You support other bloggers by posting recipes each day. That helps people like me to find new sites…but I always return to GFE. =D

This is just a great appliance and sort of seems like the cream of the crop of slow cookers.

I am going back to work soon and dh is gone all day, so this would be great to have to cook meals and have them ready for the family by the time I get back from work.

Our 4 kids could also learn to get food ready in the a.m. and that would be even better!

Going gluten free was a major (and necessary) change for me. The only way that I was able to handle the challenge was by sticking to just a few dinners. My family got pretty tired of eating the same few things over and over again. I am thankful for your site and the diversity of things I can make successfully with the menus and tips I find here. Thank you for making gluten free easier.

That lifestyle quickly came to a hault and I researched TONS of websites, cookbooks, FB fan pages and with that said, gfe is on the top of my list as a go to for easy, delicious recipes! Thank you for the opportunity to win this. I would love this 3-n-1 because I have a family of 6 to feed. I am the only “cook” lol. I LOVE my crockpot and well, it is cracked now due to the oldest dropping it after washing it. I still use it as I can’t afford another one big enough to feed us. I just line it with Foil. My husband is diabetic(type 1) and he is on so many different medications for his stints in his heart, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, the medications give him ibs, so the gfe page gives me some great recipes that i can use to help ease his pain.

A few years ago I stumbled upon Stephanie O’Dea …now I consider her a life saver! I have a 9yr old, I work full time in a busy doctors office and my husband works 2nd shift. Thanks to Ms. O’Dea’s inspiring books I use my crock pot 3-5 Times a week to prepare meals so that my entire family can enjoy a home cooked meal even though we do see dad all week. I cook overnight so that I don’t leave my appliance running while we’re not around. I think the Ninja system would make my somewhat efficient cooking even more so!

Being gluten intolerant has meant learning to do things differently. But also working a new job that has long hours (10 hour days), slow cooking is exactly what I’m looking for. To me, that’s my future and would allow me to make not just dinner, but it’d give me leftovers for the next day’s lunch! What a great idea and one I’d use all the time. Thanks for doing this, it’s fantastic.

I follow you on FB and by email. So I keep your recommendations handy when I need to replace kitchen items and for great recipes.

I love your site. We do low carb, and my son can’t have any grains, even non-gluten ones. But I can substitute nut flours and sometimes make do with psyllium husks as a flour replacement. I’m fairly new to your site, but it inspires me, and I’ve found good ways to use substitutions as needed.

The cooking system looks delightful. I’d love to win one! Thanks for the chance to do so!

I LOVE GFE. it has been so helpful the past 2.5 years since I made the switch to GF. Recipes on your page, and the ones on Stephanie’s page were life savers for me when I first got started, and they are still among the handful of pages I go to first when looking for recipes. (Had found Stephanie’s page before going gf, so it was wonderful having a starter base of things I knew would be safe while I relearned everything.)
Would love to have a Ninja system. Have been reading wonderful things about it, but haven’t been able to afford one thus far. Slow cookers, toaster ovens and an electric roaster pan were life savers for us a few years ago when our oven died suddenly and we spent most of a year saving up so we could get a really nice new one with a double oven. Still do a lot of holiday cookery with the roaster pan and slow cookers because we learned that year that it was so much easier

Would LOVE the Ninja slow cooker system due to being so allergic to so many foods, I only cook and eat at home, and THIS would be a WONDERFUL Christmas Present to my tummy (and my family, too!). 😀

It would be such a blessing to my home as I am the only one who is gluten free and usually have to make two different meals or make something extremely simple for me. So if I could prep on sundays for meals through the week and just put them in the slow cooker, that would be great!

I was just salivating over this at Costco last week! Not in the budget though. This is perfect for me because my landlord can’t understand that when the top element doesn’t “glow” food doesn’t brown on top. His response to my complaint is that all ovens here perform like that. So I haven’t been happy with how my food cooks. Very frustrating. A toaster oven isn’t big enough to cook a roast or a whole chicken. The elements are too close and the food burns. I’ve been tearing my hair out with this problem, but this would be the perfect solution! What a sweetheart you are to offer this to your readers. I never respond or comment online, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t fully appreciate all you’re doing to educate about and promote gf cooking. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas!

Shirley, I love your site because I am not the best cook/baker in the world, but you give so many recipes that even someone like me can use! I also love the fact that you took time out of your busy schedule a year or so ago to personally respond to a question I had about making something. You are never to busy for your fellow GF followers!

I think this ninja set belongs in my kitchen because I don’t have any type of slow cooker and would love to have this one! I like your gfe site because you are real and I feel like you write in a conversational manner. I also love your reviews and helpful tips, like the one about using cream of tartar to clean a pan. That was a really awesome tip I never knew about. Thanks so much for this giveaway!

It will be difficult to use the stove with the room tore apart. Not to mention those hot summer days when it’s too hot for the oven. I could go on, lol.

Hi, I liked gfe and Ninja kitchen on Facebook. I want a Ninja 3 as my stove is ancient (over 50 years+)& it gives off a lot of heat in the summer so I never use the oven then. I prefer to use my crockpot but have read that the Ninja can do so much more than a normal crockpot! I would love to have the opportunity to use a Ninja 3, to see all the advantages of owning one. My husband & I are trying to to eat GF & SF for healthier bodies, better mood and prevenitive health.

I always go to GFE every time im looking for a new recipe to try and GFE never fail me! I really love the idea and concept NINJA put in this 3 in 1 cooking system. Its perfect for our kitchen which is very small and no enough space for 3 different kitchen tools. with this 3 in 1 cooking system i can have 3 tools without wasting so much space so its very great for me 🙂

Reading your description of how you suffered, and were finally diagnosed, hit so close to home. Decades of suffering unnecessarily due to ignorance from the medical community.
🙁 And I’m an RN! But I had to study and search for an answer myself. Praise God, I finally found it. I started a gf lifestyle in December of 2010. This Ninja system would be a huge blessing, as I’ve not yet been able to return to work. I do have the honor of making short term foreign mission trips. Of course there’s no monetary compensation for that. 🙂 But definite blessings many fold. It’s amazing to me that no matter what continent I’m on, I’m able to spot and diagnose dear people struggling with reactions to gluten, and sometimes get to teach them how to improve their lives. This has become a part of my ministry both here and abroad. Thank you for your help through this blog, which I just found today! You’re a huge blessing to many.

Your blog is one of the first blogs I started reading when my son was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 4+ years ago now. You gave me my first ray of hope that I could actually cook good food for him, and now our entire family is gluten free. I have been looking at the Ninja system just recently, and believe it would be a very useful tool in my kitchen because of its versatility.

Many years ago, I inherited my grandmothers “three story aluminum baking pan.” It was perfect for cooking whole meals especially yummy turkeys. I loved that she bought it using her precious egg money; but then I discovered the dangerous hazards of cooking with aluminum. Now her cooker sits high above my cupboards waiting for someone to ask about it and hear the egg story (how long it took to save egg money and how angry my grampa got when she spent it on a PAN!) I’ve really missed it! But now I look at your new “modern” ninga and can see that it will not only cook whole dinners but bake treats as well. PS I love the honesty of your blog. It encourages me to try and to “make do” with the mistakes! Thank you. I liked you on FB as well.

I would love to have the Ninja 3-in-1 system in my kitchen! I love to cook and am now recovering from a long (16 year) bout of auto-immune+sleep apnea (sleep is SO important to heal your body, as much as anything else!) and getting back to making/creating/substituting for my gluten & cow dairy sensitivities (diagnosed just 4 years ago). Your world can truly “blossom” when you are able to do the things you love. Cooking is one of those things for me. Anything that makes that easier and more accessible for me is a blessing!
