    Hey Shirley,

Do you know of any connection between gluten and mysasthenia gravis?

Hi Dana–I wasn’t up on this info so I did some looking around. There’s little info it seems … well, that I could find anyway. We definitely know that if one develops one autoimmune condition, like celiac, that the likelihood of developing another one just goes up and up. You can read more here on the University of Chicago’s Celiac Disease Center Fact Sheets. There were some pseudo medical sites that suggested that the gluten-free diet would benefit those with myasthenia gravis, but then also at least one study that said there was no benefit to following the gf diet for myasthenia gravis. However, we know how that works as so many of us have been told that a gf diet only benefits those with a bonafide celiac diagnosis. If everyone listened to that, a lot more would be suffering needlessly. Sorry, I couldn’t be of more help … I’ll keep my eyes open for more info for you!

      Hugs,
      Shirley
