UPDATED: September 2010 Support Group Meeting
When: Monday, September 13, 6:00 pm
Where: Shirley’s Home in King George, VA

What: This is our regular monthly meeting. We’ll begin with our shared gluten-free meal (many items will be dairy free, refined sugar free, etc.). It will again be a potluck this time … no theme.
Our speaker will be Cheryl Harris of Harris Whole Health and Gluten-Free Goodness. Cheryl (full bio) has a Master’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition from the University of California, Berkeley and a BS in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University. She has worked as a Registered Dietitian and nutritionist for the past 10 years. Cheryl will be speaking on a healthy gluten-free diet. It will be such an honor to have Cheryl with us in person. She will be driving down from Alexandria, VA and returning home after her presentation, so we will start the presentation as quickly as possible after dinner.

August 2010 Support Group Meeting
When: Monday, August 9, 6:00 pm
Where: Shirley’s Home in King George, VA

What: This is our regular monthly meeting. We’ll begin with our shared gluten-free meal (many items will be dairy free, refined sugar free, etc.). It will be a potluck this time … no theme. Bakery on Main has sent us some of their delicious granola to try, too! 
After our meal, we’ll be watching the 42-minute documentary, Generation Gluten Free. (You can watch a 3-minute trailer here.) This video comes highly recommended. Hopefully, we’ll also have enough time afterwards to have a discussion session. You can watch a short video interview with the creator and director, Susan Cohen, here. July 2010 Support Group Meeting

What: A cookout/picnic event.
Bring your favorite cookout/picnic dish, lawn chair/blanket, and a friend or family member(s). Hope to see you there!

Gluten free since June 2003, I lead a celiac/gluten intolerance group in Virginia. My passion is educating folks on gluten issues and showing how eating gluten free can be easy if you focus on “real” foods versus processed and specialty foods.
