Welcome to March Muffin Madness (MMM), everyone! When so many others are focusing on basketball and brackets this time of year, I’d much rather focus on gluten-free muffins! Apparently I’m not alone as a long list of my gluten-free blogger friends are joining me for MMM.
This event will run the entire month … yes, from March 1 through March 31, with a wrap-up on April 1. (That other March Madness event goes even further into April.) The main goal of MMM is to have fun and add a little comfort and deliciousness to the winter that will not die. Are you with me on that?
Every day a different gluten-free blogger will share a gluten-free muffin recipe with us all. You can see the current line-up below. Note that I said, “current” lineup, more bloggers may join in as the event unfolds.
The muffin recipes will come in all varieties … sweet or savory … and “just gluten free” or gluten free and “more free”—e.g., dairy free, egg free, refined sugar free, vegan, paleo—you get the idea.
And this event gets even better … every comment left during the entire event will count as an eligible entry for a fabulous giveaway that will take place at midnight EST on March 31! Note that only one comment will be allowed per individual per post. (Additional comments will not be considered.) But please plan on stopping by as often as you like—even daily—to increase your odds of winning! The winner will be announced in the wrap-up post on April 1. UPDATE: The giveaway is now closed. Winners are announced HERE.
Here are the awesome giveaway prizes! They’re all from me as a thank you to my readers, which includes all of my blogger friends as well. Anyone who leaves a comment throughout the event (and that includes a comment on this post) is eligible for the final giveaway drawing! As you can see, the prizes are not all related to muffin making, but I think any of them would be great additions to your kitchen. What do you think?
PRIZES!!!
Sixth Prize ~ Norpro Nonstick 24-Cup Mini Muffin Pan
Fifth Prize ~ Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron 6-Cup Muffin Pan
Fourth Prize ~ USA 12-Cup Cupcake/Muffin Pan
Third Prize ~ Cuisinart Smart Stick Immersion Hand Blender
Second Prize ~ Paderno World Cuisine 3-Blade Vegetable Slicer

Yes, the folks at Blendtec are graciously sponsoring the SUPER GRAND PRIZE in this giveaway—-one of their sensational all-in-one appliances! It’s so much more than a blender! So many I know are absolute diehard Blendtec fans. They are great products that can make your cooking, baking, or sipping sooo much easier, more delicious, and just plain fun!
The remaining items in this giveaway are sponsored by gfe. Here are all the prizes of kitchen equipment shown together. There are eight prizes, so there will be eight winners, one winner for each prize!
In addition, there will be “flash” giveaways held on my gfe Facebook page throughout the event for fantastic cookbooks, resource books, and videos. There will be multiple winners of each of those giveaways and those specific giveaways will be jointly sponsored by authors, publishers, and gfe.
Bottom line … you definitely will not want to miss a MMM post here on gfe or on the gfe Facebook page (after you “Like” the page, use your mouse to hover over “Liked” and click on “Get Notifications”)!

My son has issues with 5 of the 8 main food allergies. I had been struggling due to where we live to gain access to alot of the items needed to make alot of the foods he loves. Shirley says
Hi Megan–This contest is open to everyone. 🙂 My giveaways are always open to everyone unless customs laws forbid shipping of a particular item. Even when sponsors don’t open giveaways to those outside the U.S., I have them ship the item to me and then I ship it to the individual so I pay the additional costs. So check out all the muffin recipes, leave comments, and enter away! 😉

I’m trying to get my co-workers and friends to try more gf foods. These recipes will be a great help! Thank you to all the bloggers who share!
Shirley says
Hi Josie–Welcome to gfe! 🙂 Thanks so much for your sweet feedback. I know all the contributors here and the gf community, in general, REALLY appreciate the kind words! The key to get folks to enjoy more gf foods is to make recipes that are as good or better than their gluten-full counterparts and NOT to mention that they’re gf beforehand. AFTER they rave over the goodies, you can quietly so, if you like, “oh, yeah, and they’re gluten free.” More often than not, I don’t say anything and they usually come to me later and say, “wait, those had to be gluten free because you were eating them, right?” Then I smile and say, “Yes, 100% gluten free. Aren’t they great?” 😉
